SCB Racing - Press Release

SCB Racing – a division of SportsCarBoutique – in partnership with POLICARO BMW is pleased to announce 3 entries for 2017 in the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC).

After successful years of racing in the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Canada, the team has purchased 2 BMW Motorsport M235iR Cup vehicles and continue to develop the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Both BMW M235iR’s will be racing the full season in the Super Touring Class and the Porsche Cayman GT4 will be contending in the Grand Touring Class.

SCB Racing is no stranger when it comes to being one of the first teams to introduce a new car to a series: In 2016 the team successfully ran 2 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsports in IMSA as one of the few teams in Canada. Once the cars made it to the grid, SCB Racing went on to win the Championship in its class with 6 straight wins. The 2017 season is presenting new challenges with a new car – the BMW M235iR – a new car in Canada and for the CTCC series. Nevertheless, with their forward momentum and racing experience, the BMW race cars are expected to be championship contenders…

The first entry #58 BMW M235iR is driven by 18 year young and very talented driver JEFFREY KINGSLEY.

Jeffrey’s past successes include several karting wins like 5x Team Canada Member at World Championships, Florida Winter Tour Champion, Multi Canadian National Champion, Multi Eastern Canadian Champion, US Open Champion

He is currently a student at the University of Western Ontario with advanced entry into the Ivey School of Business.

Jeffrey Kingsley’s statement:

"It is a real pleasure to join forces with SportsCarBoutique for the 2017 Canadian Touring Car Championship! Driving the BMW M235iR for the season, I believe we can be a contender for many race wins and the championship this year.  It is evident to see that the team supplies its drivers with the tools they need to succeed, and I look forward to getting on track.”

The second BMW M235iR is driven by the young talent NATHAN BLOK, 23.

His is no stranger to CTCC as he finished 2nd in his debut race in 2013.

Nathan's impressive driving record included winning the F1600 series as the youngest driver, at 17 years of age, with the most wins in the 2011 season. The following year he successfully defended his title winning the championship, then 3 years later, in 2015, taking the win in the F2000.

To jumpstart his career, Nathan took a different approach to raising sponsorship funding by pitching in season 6 of CBC's Dragon's Den. His unique approach coupled with relevant research proved successful as Jim Trevling "took the deal".

Andrew Danyliw is returning behind the wheel of his 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. On the heels of winning the 2016 Silver Class IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge last year, Andrew will compete in the CTCC-Grand Touring Class in 2017.
